She also said 5 out of 10 refrigerated trucks available at NMS were due for disposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Out of the 10 trucks currently available in National Medical stores, 5 refrigerated trucks are due for disposal. Our expectations are that the trucks will be deployed in supporting the immunization activities and other health related activities,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that the trucks will support NMS to build a resilient fleet to distribute and support Immunization activities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kamabare said the trucks \u201care built to perfection, and we are glad that they have come out the way we agreed with the manufacturers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n He said the arrival of trucks was timely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThese trucks will help boost NMS at time when there is big demand for vaccines,\u201d Kamabare emphasised. <\/p>\n\n\n\n NMS has built capacity to store vaccines that require both high and low temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On July 11, Kamabare said Uganda has the capacity to store Pfizer\u2019s COVID-19 Vaccine which need to be kept at minus 70 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe are already storing Ebola vaccines at \u2013 80 degrees centigrade. Yes, we can store Pfizer which is kept at minus 70 degrees Celsius,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, UNICEF Representative to Uganda, Munir Safieldin said the remaining 3 trucks will arrive in Uganda in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “These are the initial delivery of two trucks.
