Uganda Police say they have arrested the second suspected shooter in Gen Katumba Wamala’s assassination attempt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This has been confirmed by the Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I wish to inform you, that we have also arrested Wampa Huzaifa alias Kanaabe, a 30-year-old, former member of BODABODA 2010, who was the second shooter being ridden by Walusimbi Kamada alias Mudinka alias Ogema,” Enanga said at a press conference on Tuesday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I wish to add that during the interrogation of \u201cKanaabe,\u201d he admitted to participating in a series of planned and highly sophisticated murders and aggravated robberies within the country,”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According , the suspect only identified as Kanaabe was allegedly transported by one Walusimbi Kamada alias Mudinka to the scene of crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 1st, 2021, four assailants riding on motorcycles, attack the car in which dormer army boss, Gen Katumba was travelling in, spraying it with bullets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although the General survived with injuries, his daughter and driver lost their lives in the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police have made a number of arrests of those suspected to have been involved in the attack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Our focus now shifts to tracking down the overall coordinator of the domestic terror cells, a one Sheikh Abu Ubaida Badir Diin Bukenya,” Enanga said. Before adding, “He has been actively recruiting assailants and reactivating the terror cells. We have widely shared his photos and put out a reward of Ugx 5m, for anyone with credible information that can lead to his arrest.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
