{"id":24303,"date":"2021-06-06T14:08:08","date_gmt":"2021-06-06T11:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=24303"},"modified":"2021-06-06T14:08:10","modified_gmt":"2021-06-06T11:08:10","slug":"police-harvest-more-1-100-covidiots-from-kla-bars-last-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/06\/police-harvest-more-1-100-covidiots-from-kla-bars-last-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Harvest More 1, 100 COVIDIOTS From K&#8217;la Bars Last Night"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kampala Metropolitan Police conducted an operation on Saturday night with an aim of enforcing Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saturday night&#8217;s operation led to the arrest of over 1000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The aim was to raid bars that have been working in total disregard of the Ministry of Health guidelines.<br>A total of 1,100 suspects have been arrested and over 50 motor vehicles have been impounded.<br>The suspects were arrested from different bars around Kampala Metropolitan Area. We retaliate that bars are not yet opened,&#8221; ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the KMP Deputy Spokesperson said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added, &#8220;Police will not hesitate to arrest any suspects found violating stipulated guidelines.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All suspects arrested will be produced in courts of law on offences of doing a negligent act likely to spread an infectious disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We urge members of the public to observe standard operating procedures, like wearing masks in public places and sanitising, to avoid contract Coronavirus or spreading it to others,&#8221; Luke added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation follows another, last weekend when over 700people were caged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kampala Metropolitan Police conducted an operation on Saturday night with an aim of enforcing Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures.
