The regulations first need to be given the stamp of approval by the National Security Council, which oversees all the country’s security forces, Fred Matiang\u2019i said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the military, relationships were already banned between officers of different ranks, he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the last few months, there had been increase in spousal murders among police officers, the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe cannot look away any more and not address some of the challenges that we have in the security sector,\u201d Mr Matiang\u2019i said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The gender relations office will also look into cases of sexual harassment reported by female police officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Moving forward, it will be illegal for a police officer to date or get married to a fellow law enforcement officer.
