Justice Esther Kisakye of the Supreme Court has accused the Chief Justice of confiscating her file, preventing her from giving a dissenting (disagreeing) judgement in the petition filed by ex-presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kisakye made the shocking accusation on Thursday as the court delivered it’s final ruling in the case where Bobi Wine had petitioned challenging the election results that gave President Yoweri Museveni victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I’m seated here today to give my ruling, my reasons for the rulings we have made in the presidential election petition which was withdrawn recently. I instructed my staff to put my ruling here for delivery. The Chief Justice and other members of the forum have opted not to be part of this afternoon proceeding and i respect their decision. However, what is of surprise to me is that, my file has apparently been confiscated on the orders of the chief justice,” Justice Kisakye said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added, “I am going to proceed in the court building and i’ll come back and read my ruling as scheduled.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, the Supreme Court had confirmed the election of incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni after allowing the withdrawal of NUP’s President, Bobi Wine’s Election Petition with no orders to costs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
