While passing out of tank crews and crews of other infantry fighting vehicles at Karama Armoured Warfare Training Centre in Mubende district, President Museveni strongly cautioned the soldiers not to live life promiscuously.<\/p>\n
\u201cI congratulate the crews and advise them to avoid a risky lifestyle – avoid umalaya, alcohol and corruption. Their future is bright,\u201d said Mr. President.<\/p>\n
He also reminded them about the danger posed by the HIV\/AIDS virus which he said not only affects the Army\u2019s productivity but also has no known cure and ultimately kills.<\/p>\n
The President told them that the HIV\/AIDS virus had greatly cost the then National Resistance Army (NRA) a number of useful commanders after the liberation struggle because the virus was not known then.<\/p>\n
He noted that the situation that prevailed by that time said shouldn\u2019t be the case today when the virus is well known.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s worth noting that 321 officers and men of the Uganda People\u2019s Defence Forces (UPDF) completed a number of courses in Armoured Warfare.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
