{"id":22109,"date":"2021-03-04T14:53:33","date_gmt":"2021-03-04T11:53:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=22109"},"modified":"2021-03-04T14:53:36","modified_gmt":"2021-03-04T11:53:36","slug":"drunk-ldu-officer-shoots-himself-in-agago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2021\/03\/04\/drunk-ldu-officer-shoots-himself-in-agago\/","title":{"rendered":"Drunk LDU Officer Shoots Himself in Agago"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A Local Defense Unit (LDU) personnel suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol, is now nursing wounds after he shot himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bullet he fired out of his gun shattered his mouth, nose, and lower jaw in Agago district and he has been admitted to Dr Ambrozoli Memorial Hospital- Kalongo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Police have identified the victim as LDU Pte Otim Ayala- who held the rifle Ak-47(56-15534962) that he used to shoot himself.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br>The incident happened along Kalongo-Wol road in front of the town council.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe fired two bullets in the air and later shot himself thus shattering his mouth, nostrils &amp; lower part of the jaws,\u201d said a police officer who responded to the shooting.<br>&nbsp;<br>\u201cHe was disarmed and later rushed to hospital ( Dr Ambrozoli Memorial Hospital- Kalongo) in critical condition,\u201d said a detective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He left the bar together with Pte Joe Canamita, all attached to Labwor Dwong army barracks and were deployed at Kalongo Hill Army detach.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ban on bars businesses has not been lifted, however we continue seeing revellers enjoying the night time like everything is already back to normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Yoweri Museveni closed bars across the country to avert the spread of COVID-19.
