US Ambassador to Uganda Deborah Malac has appealed to the government to discuss with doctors and come to conclusion that will see Uganda attain better health services.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will make a plea to the government to put more into the health sector to ensure that there are adequate resources, not only to support the salary of health workers but ensure there is medicine supplies in clinics and hospitals,\u201d Malac said before adding that; \u201cIt takes collective action by communities, it takes people wanting to make a difference in whatever way they can in their communities and in their families.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou can\u2019t deliver services when you don\u2019t have the resources.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand the concerns of health workers but this is something that needs to be discussed and resolved peacefully.\u201d<\/p>\n
Malac said all this while at the ground-breaking event of the extension of Ruth Gaylord hospital in Maganjo, Wakiso district.<\/p>\n
Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Diana Atwiine Thanked the US government for supporting the health sector.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen such an initiative comes up, we are very happy that you are bridging those gaps where we have not been able to tackle.\u201d<\/p>\n
She further said that striking doctors won\u2019t be fired now because there is still room to resolve the crisis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
