Ugandans on social media have been reacting to the shock exit of Robert Kabushenga at the helm of the Vision Group empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, Kabushenga announced that he would be taking early retirement, end 14 years as CEO of Uganda’s biggest media empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One person many having been looking up to for a comment following the exit of Kabushenga is Special Presidential Adviser on Media, Tamale Mirundi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two have had rough relations with Mirundi accusing Kabushenga of working with what he calls ‘the mafia gang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ug Mirror<\/strong><\/em> sought the Mirundi and the former presidential spokesperson said he had nothing much to say about the development since the two do not work together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “I have no comment on his exit because we do not share anything in common,” Mirundi told this publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When pressed, Mirundi simply replied, “I do not share a woman with Kabushenga, why would matters bout his life affect me?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n The ‘beef’ between the two stems from 2009 during the infamous Kayunga riots that were sparked off after the Kabaka of Buganda was blocked from visiting Kayunga district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Following the move, deadly riots broke out that left 29 people dead, accompanied with reprisals on those working with the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mirundi says his mother almost got caught up in the riots when Bukedde<\/strong><\/em>, a newspaper under the Vision Group of published her location. According to Mirundi, this almost got her killed because he was working as presidential spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He also says the newspaper did not stop at that but continued running stories that portrayed him as mentally unstable, something Mirundi adds, cost him the State House job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Mirundi is one of Uganda’s most watched and listened to TV and radio commentator\/analyst.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Ugandans on social media have been reacting to the shock exit of Robert Kabushenga at the helm of the Vision Group empire.
