Musician Bebe Cool alias Moses Ssali has said Nigerians should stop having the entitlement that Uganda needs them more than they do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNigerian musicians need us more than we need them because we spend a lot on them yet they don\u2019t. However, we need to learn from them since they are highly developed,\u201d said Bebe Cool during an interview at the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His argument came shortly after Nigerian artiste Temilade Openyi also known as Tems and Omah Lay accused Bebe Cool of being behind their arrest in Kampala, last Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The two artistes were arrested following an illegal concert in Munyonyo which according to the Uganda Police, was in violation of the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The singers were arraigned before court and remanded to Kitalya and Kigo Prisons before the DPP dropped their charges on Tuesday last week and they left the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon reaching their home country, one of the singers warned Bebe Cool never to step in Nigeria claiming that Bebe Cool was solely responsible for their arrest in Uganda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bebe Cool explained that when he alerted the public about event, the authorities didn\u2019t respond because it was permitted as a \u2018brunch\u2019 not a trans night event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Bebe Cool, he couldn’t allow foreign artistes to perform in Uganda, yet our own singers are dying of hunger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPractically My job as an artiste was to stand for my fellow Ugandan artistes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that for the last 25 years, we don\u2019t have more than five (5) Ugandan musicians who have performed in Nigeria yet we have had more than 50 Nigerian musicians performing in this nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
” I didn\u2019t know Omah Lay and Tems. In Nigeria, I only know prominent musicians like Davido and Wizkid. These were young and arrogant musicians on their flight for the first gig outside their country, and i don\u2019t blame them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bebe Cool said after receiving a call from Rajiv Rupaleria who advised that the event was a \u2018brunch\u2019, this prompted him to pull down the Facebook post that alerted the public about the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
