Judith Nabakooba the Minister of ICT &amp; National Guidance during her Sunday briefing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cUganda expects to obtain the first batch of COVID-19 Vaccine by May or June 2021. Priority will be given to frontline medical workers, the elderly and people with existing health conditions,\u201d said Nabakooba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She added that; \u201cHowever, we believe that as more vaccines become available globally, we might be able to get them much earlier than June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI therefore call upon everyone to ensure that you stay alive up to the point when the vaccines become available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cStay away from any form of festive temptations that could expose you to catching COVID-19.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It should be noted that the cumulative confirmed cases in Uganda are 31,187 as of 20<sup>th<\/sup> December 2020 while the number of deaths stand at 231.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Uganda is expected to receive the first batch of COVID-19 Vaccine in May of June 2021, Ug Mirror reports.
