The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has scoffed at the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine who has pledged a number of things for the people of Busoga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While campaigning in Kamuli yesterday, where the ruling National Resistance Movement, Speaker Kadaga is a dominant force, Kyagulanyi expressed much respect for the speaker adding that if given the mantle of leadership, he will entrust her with a key position in his government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease tell our speaker, who is also our \u2018aunt\u2019, that this is not about family, this is real. Tell her that she is good but we can give her even a bigger role. I will give her a better role in my government,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kyagulanyi promised his supporters that he will give them control over the pricing of the sugarcanes once voted into power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou will have control over the sugarcanes that you grow. You will control the price of the sugarcane and we will make sure that you have a bigger market for your products,\u201d Kyagulanyi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kyagulanyi also pledged to halt the double fees levied on parents citing exam registration fees among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that schools in his government will have the role of teaching, unlike the current situation where he says schools are being used to extort money from parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Much as Museveni has been at the helm for 35 years, Bobi Wine said there are very many challenges in the education system that need urgent solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, President Museveni blamed school\u2019s management and local governments for frustrating his free education program by levying illegal fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NRM party spokesperson Rogers Mulindwa accused Bobi Wine of starting his campaign without a manifesto and only building on the NRM one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, it should be noted that the NUP launched its manifesto in Mbarara on November 7th and campaigns kicked off on November 9th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kyagulanyi was scheduled to appear in Jinja as his last campaign of the day, but this did not happen as he was blocked by security forces on the way to Jinja.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
