Musician Moses Ssali commonly known has Bebe Cool has expressed his disappointment at the Electoral Commission for letting the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine carry on with rallies that are contrary to the COVID-19 guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bebe Cool’s remarks come after several reports and complaints from various politicians who keep complaining about his processions while soliciting for NRM votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Bebe Cool, the ground should be levelled for both the parties adding that if processions are not accepted, both the opposition and the ruling party should observe the guidelines other than letting one side to go on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWow, and you will see them on all political TV shows and radios discussing Bebe Cool’s processions while EC is just looking on this,\u201d Bebe Cool wrote referring to the recent Bobi Wine’s procession while traversing different parts of the country combing for votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bobi Wine was recently arrested in Luuka district where he had scheduled to address his supporters as he looks for votes ahead of the 2021 General Elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police accused him of having more than 200 supporters recommended by the EC to contain further spread of COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Inspector General of Police, Martin Okoth Ochola has on several times warned presidential candidates against defying Electoral Commission guidelines in a bid to prevent further spread of the virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDespite repeated warnings issued to candidates, their agents and wider public about the negative impact and health risks of holding unauthorized rallies and processions, we continue to witness acts of defiance and total disregard of the EC guidelines,\u201d Mr Ochola told the media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTherefore, those who shall defy these Electoral Commission guidelines with their sinister plans aimed at disrupting the Electoral process will definitely suffer consequences,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the IGP, police and their sister security agencies have adopted a tougher approach to preserve the integrity of the electoral process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
