Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential candidate, Patrick Oboi Amuriat, has made a promised the people of Lango to handle the issue of land grabbing if elected the president in the forthcoming general polls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amuriat who was warmly welcomed by residents of Ayabi town council, Kwania district on Sunday, said people in the region are suffering because they have been marginalised by the regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Barefoot Amuriat held successful and peaceful rallies in the districts of Dokolo and Kwania after starting his journey with prayers at Lira Cathedral church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He told the congregation that he came barefoot because he wanted to stand with the vulnerable people having lost his shoes on the day of his nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amuriat promised to compensate those who lost their cattle during the insurgency by the Lord\u2019s Resistance Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn this campaign, there is a lot of oppression and I understand, we are not surprised and we\u2019ll continue to fight that oppression. I understand the challenges the people of Lango face because they are the same challenges the people of Teso where I come from are facing,\u201d said Amuriat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the people of Teso also lost cattle but all that will be history if he takes over power come 2021 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMuseveni is a robber. He collected a lot of money to help Ugandans during COVID-19 but to date, he has not given accountability. He instead bought rotten maize flour and gave to only people of Kampala and Wakiso,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFor the last four years, Mr. Museveni is moving after you because you have been fishing in Lake Kwania which is a God given gift to the people of Kwania and that’s why God never took it anywhere but he brought here,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that people of Kwania got nothing during the crisis adding that the president also bought yellow bicycles for NRM LC1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are going to be a responsible government. My government is going to give each household Shs100,000 as COVID-19 relief beginning next year May,” Amuriat told voters in Kwania.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
