The National Unity Platform (NUP) Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has said that he couldn’t mourn someone who was opposed to their views<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His comments came shortly after the death of the deputy government spokesman Shaban Bantariza who succumbed to COVID-19 on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUnlike some comrades who celebrate when their oppressors die, I personally feel sad when they die. I always wish that they live much longer and witness a #NewUganda which is governed with fairness, justice and love,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bobi Wine however said that he was sudden by the death of Col Bantariza hence conveying his sympathy to his family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have learnt about the sudden death of Deputy Government Spokesperson, Col. Shaban Bantariza. I extend my sympathy to his family and friends,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also condemned Ugandans who rushed on social media posting comments that were made by the deceased mocking the opposition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut may be this reflects the growing wedge between our rulers and those who are ruled. My prayer is that this will cause deep reflection amongst all of us\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bobi Wine also said that it is important for Ugandans to understand that \u201cin death, we are reminded that all of us are equal and share a common destiny as human beings, as we await God\u2019s judgement\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said while we are still alive, each of us should try to do what is good and what is right to all kinds of people regardless of their social status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMay we also learn never to put our trust in anything else, except God, who alone is immortal. Nothing should ever replace humanity and humility. While we still live, we owe it upon ourselves and those yet to come to be humble and do good\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
