The Police Advisory Committee has recommended IP Cheptegei Joshua who broke four (World Records in long distance running competitions, for promotion to his next rank of ASP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The IGP who is the Chairperson of the PAC made the announcement to honour the athlete on Wednesday, 21 October 202. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He in addition, tasked the Director of Logistics and Engineering to allocate a Double Cabin Pick-up and a Coaster Mini-bus to the Police Athletics team to support their training in Kapchorwa in fulfilment of his earlier pledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe would like to add that the police elite athlete has so far had a phenomenal season, where he broke 4 (four) World records,\u201d reads the statement signed by Police Spokesperson CP Fred Enanga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement further reads that; \u201cHe is now the 5000m World record holder, a double Common Wealth Gold Medallist, and is also the reigning World Cross Country and World 10,000m Champion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn addition, there are plans to rename a facility at the Police training centre in Kapchorwa and at the Police Training School at Kabalye, Masindi in honour of his achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe record-breaking IP Cheptegei Joshua now has his eyes set on the Olympics 2021, where he aims to beat the Olympics Records for the 5000m and 10,000m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
