Self-proclaimed Ghetto President, Mark Bugembe alias Butcherman has surrendered to Police clothes akin to those of the Police and Army which have been in possession of ghetto dwellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Butcherman who was in the company of his wife, kids and other ghetto members handed over the attire to Kampala South Police Commander, James Ruhweza in Makindye on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development comes shortly after a security warning that operations to crack down on civilians donning military attire will go on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe shall continue with operations on illegal use of armed forces uniforms. They(operations) will be targeting illegal manufacture, supply, distribution and selling of the armed uniforms across the country including berets, pips, ranger boots and heavy jackets,\u201d Enanga said recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking to the media shortly after handing over the attire, Butcherman also issued a 14-day ultimatum to anyone with military and any security attire to hand them over or face the wrath of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI support the decision by security agencies to surrender all the clothing that are similar to uniforms of the armed forces. I have mobilized all these clothing from the ghetto,\u201d Butcherman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Butcherman said that during the elections, ghettos will be secured against those that intend to protest, break into shops and loot property in the guise of ghetto youths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI appeal to ghetto youths to surrender such attire to the Police station near you. You have 14 days to do this. All those that claim to be Ghetto Presidents must also adhere to this order. You will be arrested should you disobey the directives by government,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the uniforms should return to those in authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a directive; get all military attire and take them to any nearby police station. Even those calling themselves ghetto presidents, you need to heed to this directive,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kampala South Metropolitan Police commander, James Ruhweza applauded Butcherman and his ghetto group for leading by example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
