{"id":19172,"date":"2020-10-13T14:41:47","date_gmt":"2020-10-13T11:41:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=19172"},"modified":"2020-10-13T14:41:55","modified_gmt":"2020-10-13T11:41:55","slug":"boda-boda-rider-held-for-attacking-police-officer-in-mbale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/10\/13\/boda-boda-rider-held-for-attacking-police-officer-in-mbale\/","title":{"rendered":"Boda Boda Rider Held for attacking Police Officer In Mbale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police in Mbale has arrested a 37-year-old Boda Boda rider on allegations of attacking and injuring a police officer on Sunday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suspect identified as Mubarak Awori reportedly attacked the Police officer who was on duty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson said the suspect; a resident of Kambula in Bukedea district but operating at Nakaloke Boda Boda stage in Mbale City punched and threw stones at the Police officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taitika says the arrest follows routine attacks on their officers by Boda Boda riders who do not want to observe the presidential directive of moving during curfew time which starts at 6PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Elgon region police spokesperson says Awori punched and threw stones at police officer leaving him with injuries on the head after he tried to impound his motorbike after getting him operating at 8PM<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taitika cautioned Boda Boda riders against attacking armed officers and not&nbsp; to break presidential directives of stopping to operate at 6PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;He said Awori will&nbsp;&nbsp; answer charges of assault and attacking police officers on duty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Police in Mbale has arrested a 37-year-old Boda Boda rider on allegations of attacking and injuring a police officer on Sunday night.
