The former Makindye East Member of Parliament Michael Mabikke has criticised the vetting process used by the National Unity Platform in selecting the flag bearers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appearing on one of the local televisions today, Mabikke revealed that from the start he cautioned NUP against selecting its flag bearers through a vetting process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that he raised his concerns to the party Executive Committee but they were not looked into hence he decided to participate in the vetting process to expose them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am connected, I got the original results and that\u2019s how I know that my results were tampered with,\u201d he insisted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the reason why he joined the Party was expose some of the rotten elements in the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, while responding to such allegations, NUP urged Mabikke to stop making false claims while appearing on different platforms that the party\u2019s electoral process is dominated by corruption and tribalism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently while appearing on NBS TV, Mabikke claimed that he scored 45 out of 50 from the vetting process adding that his results were changed in favour of his opponent who was given the party ticket for Makindye East parliamentary race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement issued by NUP Electoral Commission Chairperson, Mercy Walukamba, Mabikke\u2019s misleading statements are aimed at discrediting the party\u2019s vetting process which must stop with immediate effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have noted with concern the repeated statements by Hon Michael Mabikke in the media that his marks from the candidate\u2019s selection process were tampered with,\u201d said Walukamba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s therefore not true that his results or those of any other candidate were tampered with. All aggrieved candidates have been advised to petition the Executive Board for possible redress,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
