The acting president of the Forum for Democratic Change, Joyce Nabbosa Ssebugwawo has called on party members to remain united even after the party primaries are held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said this while launching campaigns for presidential flag bearer in Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The race is between party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat and party national chairman Wasswa Birigwa, who both promised to transform the livelihoods of Ugandans if they take the highest office in the land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amuriat one of the aspirants for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential flag bearer has dismissed the idea of dialogue with the NRM government ahead of the 2021 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amuriat told press at the launch of the FDC presidential flag bearer campaigns that the party couldn\u2019t sit down with people who have mistreated them for long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith people who exercise arrogance as if we are second class citizens of this country? There is not going to be any compromise with characters that have destroyed our country,\u201d Amuriat said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His opponent Wasswa Birigwa promised increased citizen\u2019s access to financial aid once he is entrusted with the country\u2019s top most office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTo begin even with the situation, we are in of COVID-19, that each household will be given Shs100,000 per month for the next six months as soon as I become president of this nation,\u201d Birigwa promised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While many are fearful this may cause inflation, he explained that all this can be avoided if that money goes towards meeting basic necessities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
