{"id":18340,"date":"2020-09-12T08:48:50","date_gmt":"2020-09-12T05:48:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=18340"},"modified":"2020-09-12T08:48:57","modified_gmt":"2020-09-12T05:48:57","slug":"kampala-heavy-rains-two-dead-bodies-retrieved-from-trench","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/12\/kampala-heavy-rains-two-dead-bodies-retrieved-from-trench\/","title":{"rendered":"KAMPALA HEAVY RAINS: Two Dead Bodies Retrieved From Trench"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police have recovered two dead bodies along Nakivubo Channel at Clock Tower near Total fuel station, yesterday after a heavy downpour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, the two bodies were carried by flood water from different places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe first body to be retrieved is of female juvenile aged 12 years, identified as Namazzi Alyera, a resident of Nsambya Kitooro, Makindye Division, Kampala Capital City,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its alleged that Namazzi was playing with her friends during the rain and their ball fell in the trench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Onyango said she tried to remove the ball, but the water overpowered her and swept her away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHer body was swept up to Clock Tower, where a boda boda rider saw it and informed the police,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the force went and retrieved the body while still carrying on their work, another body appeared and it was also removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe body was not identified but it is of a male adult.
