{"id":18187,"date":"2020-09-07T17:43:12","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T14:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=18187"},"modified":"2020-09-07T17:49:28","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T14:49:28","slug":"rukutana-charged-with-attempted-murder-remanded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/09\/07\/rukutana-charged-with-attempted-murder-remanded\/","title":{"rendered":"Rukutana Charged With Attempted Murder, Remanded"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Gender Minister for Labour and former deputy Attorney General, Mwesigwa Rukutana has been charged with attempted murder, malicious damage and theft of gun, among others Ug Mirror reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rukutana has now been remanded to Kakinga prison in Mbarara up to tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today relatives and friends have camped at Mbarara Central police Station where Rukutana has been detained for the past 2days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are demanding his releases claiming that every citizen has a right to get police bond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-rounded\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Rukuta1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Rukuta1.jpg 750w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Rukuta1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Rukuta1-360x480.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It should be noted that Rukutana was arrested over the weekend after a video of him attempting to shoot at people went viral on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the video clip that circulated online, Rukutana is seen grabbing a gun from his body guard and advancing to shoot the people who were in the car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People in the car are seen trying to take cover and one who seems to be speaking on phone says that; \u201cCome, Rukutana is going to shoot us\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then another person cautions the driver not to drive very fast<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStop driving recklessly. Be careful,\u201d one of the men charges at the driver, who responds, \u201cDon\u2019t put me under pressure.
