Nakaseke South Member of Parliament, Paul Lutamaguzi, has exposed the situation in Kitalya Maximum Security Prison where he was detained saying that it is a new Guantanamo Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lutamaguzi and his 21 supporters were recently remanded after being arrested for allegedly violating COVID-19 guidelines, common nuisance and unlawful procession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Appearing on NBS eagle on Sunday, Lutamaguzi narrated how he was arrested saying he was beaten and meant to be killed that day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was abducted and my car was shot with a bullet and that was between Luwero and Semuto. The DPC of Nakaseke Sulait Kitaka and his aid beat me seriously. Even my money was stolen,\u201d Lutamaguzi recounted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He asked the Speaker parliament, Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga to visit Kitalya Maximum Security Prison where he claims that people are dying after being tortured by Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the police claim the legislator was arrested after a tip-off that he had planned to convene a meeting near Semuto roundabout in Semuto Town Council, he denied any plan of holding a gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI was not planning to hold any gathering. I was due to deliver road culverts in fulfilment of an earlier pledge to the people of Semuto Town,\u201d he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBut those who received the order of arresting me, in fact they meant to kill me that day. I was taken to the prison where I spent over 1 week in a terrible environment,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He explained that they have particular roads at the swampy sections that need the culverts noting It is unfortunate that service delivery is being compromised by selfish individuals in Nakaseke.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
