Criminal Investigations Department Director, Grace Akullo has taken over the case in which Labour minister Mwesigwa Rukutana was involved in a shooting incident in Rushenyi, Ntungamo district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development was revealed by the Spokesperson of Police for Rwizi region Samson Kasasira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Director for CID has also found out that the injuries sustained by the victim aren\u2019t from a bullet but from an object that is yet to be identified.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rukutana was arrested on Saturday following a loud outcry from the public after the clip showing the incident surfaced on social media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is currently being held at Mbarara Police Station together with his three escorts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local residents yesterday took to the streets to celebrate Naomi Kabasharira (Rukutana\u2019s opponent) \u2019s win and Rukutana\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some of his colleagues like Minister of State for Disaster Preparedness Musa Ecweru have since come out strongly to condemn Rukutana\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
