President Museveni has declared 29th August a public holiday for National Prayers day in the country which will be held scientifically following COVID-19 standard operating procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his message , Museveni said, \u201cA certain Ugandan came to me and told me that God had told him in a vision that I should organize National Prayers, scientifically organized, for God to deliver us from COVID 19.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTherefore, by the powers given to the President of Uganda by Section 2(2) of the Public Holidays Act, I declare the 29th of August 2020, a day of National Prayers and a Public Holiday. Stay in your houses or Compounds and pray,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni said that he invited some few religious leaders to go to Entebbe State House and pray together with him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0He however advised the public to\u00a0 watch the event on television or listening on radios.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I appeal to all Ugandans to join this massive act of supplication \u201cMushabe, muryaheebwa, musherure, muryazoora\u201d, I remember from our priests at Kyamate in 1950s,” he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni further quoted the Book of Matthew chapter 7 verse 7 which says, \u201cAsk, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
