{"id":17741,"date":"2020-08-26T13:42:26","date_gmt":"2020-08-26T10:42:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=17741"},"modified":"2020-08-26T13:42:32","modified_gmt":"2020-08-26T10:42:32","slug":"police-teargas-bobi-wine-supporters-over-violating-covid-19-sops-in-mbale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/08\/26\/police-teargas-bobi-wine-supporters-over-violating-covid-19-sops-in-mbale\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Teargas Bobi Wine Supporters Over Violating COVID-19 SOPs in Mbale"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police in Mbale City has today fired teargas to disperse supporters of National Unity Platform (NUP) party outside Mbale High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The supporters were apparently waiting for their leader, Kyaddondo East Member of Parliament Hon Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, who was scheduled to attend the hearing of a case in which the organisation sued the Inspector General of Police, Mr Martin Ochola and other security officers who blocked his recent radio talk show on one of the radio stations in Mbale City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The supporters converged outside court as early as 7am. Clad in red garments, the supporters spent most of time chanting various people power slogans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0Police used teargas to disperse the supporters for reportedly violating COVID-19 Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u201cThe crowd was violating the COVID-19 control SOPs.
