Hon Shri Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India when he visited Uganda in July 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs Hon Adolf Mwesige, who received the donation at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds on behalf of the Government of Uganda expressed his gratitude for the historic bilateral historic friendship existing between both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"720\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/786F0C01-8F00-4188-87C7-91FE3F92894F.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17651\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/786F0C01-8F00-4188-87C7-91FE3F92894F.jpeg 720w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/786F0C01-8F00-4188-87C7-91FE3F92894F-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/786F0C01-8F00-4188-87C7-91FE3F92894F-360x240.jpeg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that the gesture will help UPDF register successes in delivering national security, regional and international peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mwesige said that the various cooperation offers and support in technical and professional fields have enhanced the professional disposition of UPDF. \u201cWe view them as a sign of brotherly friendship and we shall always remain grateful for this immense cooperation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Defence minister promised to put the vehicles to good use since they will enhance troop mobility in execution of national defence as guided by the Commander in Chief of the UPDF Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Indian High Commissioner to Uganda His Excellency. Ajay. Kumar commended Uganda for maintaining the deep rooted historic relationship between both countries, saying this is hinged on the struggle for both freedom and independence.
