{"id":17357,"date":"2020-08-17T12:28:58","date_gmt":"2020-08-17T09:28:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=17357"},"modified":"2020-08-17T12:42:21","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T09:42:21","slug":"rwanda-closes-markets-in-capital-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/08\/17\/rwanda-closes-markets-in-capital-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda Closes Markets In Capital Over COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authorities in Rwanda&#8217;s capital, Kigali, have closed two biggest markets in the city for seven days after a surge in coronavirus cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rwanda is the only sub-Saharan country whose residents are permitted to enter Europe&#8217;s Schengen zone in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The closure of Nyarugenge market and Kwa Mutanga market &#8211; the main wholesale market for fresh food in the city &#8211; takes effect on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision was announced on Sunday hours after the health ministry reported 101 new coronavirus cases in the country &#8211; including 80 cases recorded in Kigali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The country has reported 253 new cases in the last three days 253, most of them in Kigali.
