Today, presidential aspirant Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde has launched\u00a0 a pressure group called ‘Kisoboka’ to boost his campaigns for the presidency in the 2021 general elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Kisoboka\u2019 will use orange as its colour and \u2018A renewed Uganda, it is possible\u2019 as its slogan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While addressing the media today, Tumukunde said he\u00a0chose the name \u2018Kisoboka\u2019 because he\u00a0don\u2019t want to believe that it is not possible.\u00a0“Some people gave up but I think we can achieve change in this country,\u201dhe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Gen. Tumukunde, President Museveni long veered off the ideals that inspired the Bush War and has rather taken the country on the precipice with endemnoic corruption, abuse of office, sectarianism, impunity tear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that he chose the orange colour because it is a revolutionary colour. \u201cI once used this same colour when I formed the Progressive Party. It is a colour of revolution and that\u2019s why we chose it,\u201d Tumukunde said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tumukunde said\u00a0 the new pressure group will focus on youth who he says are the majority in the country, women and the disadvantaged segments of the population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gen Tumukunde is an experienced politician having been a member of the Constituent Assembly that drafted the Constitution between 1994-1996 and later served as Army MP between 1996-2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before joining politics in 1994, Lt Gen Tumukunde was sent on a Command and Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in Kaduna, Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
