Police has summoned the State Minister for Investment Evelyn Anite and aspiring Sheema district MP Dickson Kateshumbwa over holding political processions over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police also summoned all the territorial commanders of the districts where the processions took place\u00a0 to report to police headquarters to explain why they failed to deliver on a police mandate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While addressing the media in Kampala,the police spokesperson, Fred Enanga said the two will have to be reprimanded for bleaching the ministry of health guidelines. “We summoned Hon Anite immediately after she drove back to Kampala but we have yet seen her. The aspiring candidate Dickson\u00a0Kateshumbwa has summoned foe his statement and failure to report to region and arrest warrant is going to be processed against him,”Enanga said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0He also noted that all the territorial police have been summoned\u00a0 report to the headquarters to explain their failure to counter the procession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00a0\u00a0“The management has summoned all the territorial commanders from these places to report to police headquarters and those who are not able to account for their failure to counter these processions,further action shall be take,”he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the EC guidelines for campaigns are likely to begin in September, but many politicians across the country have since defied the directives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some opposition political players have vowed to defy the scientific campaigns and go full blast since the government has allowed their counterparts from the ruling NRM to conduct conventional rallies and campaigns.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This follows numerous mass rallies and processions that are allegedly being held by NRM leaning politicians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kateshumbwa served as Commissioner Customs for over 12 years and was named Commissioner for Domestic Taxes in 2019 as the tax body\u2019s Director General Doris Akol tried to appease President Museveni, who was angry over the skyrocketing corruption at URA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
