President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday afternoon showed his affirmation that he will be steering the country and the ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM) for another term as he picked nomination forms from the party headquarters after he paid Shs40 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Museveni was represented by his son in-law Karugire Edwin who doubles as his personal lawyer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NRM Secretariat also handed over the Party Membership register to the NRM Electoral Commission at a function held at the party headquarters in Kampala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The function was presided over by the Deputy Secretary General Hon Richard Todwong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present also were; the NRM Vice Chairperson Northern Hon Sam Engola, the Party\u2019s National Treasurer Hon Rose Namayanja Nsereko, \u00a0Party EC Deputy Chairperson Hon John Alimpa Kijaaji, Deputy National Treasurer Hon Jacqueline Kyatuheire, Hon Mathias Kasamba (Director- Mobilisation), \u00a0Hon Emmanuel Dombo (Director-Information) Hajat Medina Naham (Director -Finance & Administration), NRM EC Commissioner Hon Jane Alisemeera, Zonal Coordinators among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week the Party released its 2020-21 electoral Road map to kick start activities ahead of the Nation General Elections as follows;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 20: <\/strong>Secretary general hands over register of 11.9m NRM voters to the party\u2019s electoral commission<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 20-22<\/strong>: Picking of expression of interest and nomination forms for presidential flag bearer, national chairperson and vice chairpersons<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 27-28: <\/strong>Nominations for presidential flag bearer, national chairperson and vice chairpersons<\/p>\n\n\n\n

July 30-Aug 5: <\/strong>CEC and NEC vets presidential flag bearer, national chairperson and vice chairpersons<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 7-8: <\/strong>National Delegates\u2019 conference in line with Covid-19 guidelines to elect presidential flag bearer, national chairperson and vice chairpersons
July 23-31<\/strong>: Online expression of interest and picking nomination forms for Woman MPs, directly elected MPs, LC5 chairpersons and city mayors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 10-11: <\/strong>Nominations at party EC headquarters for Woman MP, directly elected MPs, LC5 chairpersons and city mayors for western region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 12-13:<\/strong> Nominations at party EC headquarters for Woman MP, directly elected MPs, LC5 chairpersons and city mayors for northern, West Nile and Karamoja regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 14-15:<\/strong> Nominations at Party EC headquarters for Woman MP, directly elected MPs, LC5 chairpersons and city mayors for central and Kampala regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 17-18:<\/strong> Nominations at Party EC headquarters for Woman MP, directly elected MPs, LC5 chairpersons and city mayors for eastern region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 18-21:<\/strong> Public to inspect candidates\u2019 academic credentials and lodging of complaints where necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

August 10-27<\/strong>: Campaigns for LC5 and city lord mayors in line with Ministry of Health Covid-19 guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
