Police FC on 6th July 2020 announced Tony Mawejje as its first signing as they prepare for the 2020\/21 season.\u00a0Tonny Mawejje was unveiled by the club chairman Asan Kasingye at Police headquaters where he penned a 2 year contract with the Cops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kasingye said, \u201cWe no longer just want to compete, we need to win trophies. We are a former champions and its time to think big. Football is a big enterprise in the world that doesn\u2019t entertain mediocrity. We need to do the right thing like other clubs.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kasingye noted that its time to they got sponsors because Police is a big organisation and many people want to be part of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Mawejje, the chaiman said: \u201cHe brings a lot of experience, discipline and a sign of commitment to the club. I also thank Tonny for choosing us as he would have gone to other clubs! He was at his prime but he chose Police and he plays with one heart. I take this opportunity to welcome you back to the family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also revealed that its time to retain most of our players and there is need to associate with our former players, they get involved in management, training as they have a role to play in the development of the club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mawejje said; “I\u2019m so happy to be back at Police FC, the team which I played for in 2006 when we won CECAFA. I\u2019m happy to re-unite with my family as I have so much history and great memories here.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
