The security minister, Gen. Elly Tumwine, has urged teachers to refrain from coaching students during this period noting that such actions contradict with the ministry of health guidelines of social distancing among others which can lead to the spread of covid19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tumwine said they have been receiving reports that some teachers are carrying out teaching at their homes which totally frustrate the effort of fighting the pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minster made the remarks while\u00a0 speaking to the media on Thursday in Kampala.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In March, President Museveni ordered for the closure of schools and suspended religious gatherings across the country in attempt to prevent the spread of pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Let’s learning continue on televisions, radios and papers that were circulated by the ministry of education to avoid the congestion and gathering of many children,”said Tumwine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also warned hairdressers who operate their saloons back doors to stop breaching the established guidelines advising them to be patient. Tumwine said that security plans to deploy actively to ensure all covid-19 regulations are implemented and this\u00a0 warning is aimed at curfew breakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I want to re-emphasise the importance of curfew which is still on. Finish your work early and make sure you go home by 7:00pm to ensure your safety,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To reduce on jam in the city, Tumwine said the ministry of public services has written to all ministries guiding them to have small number of staff for the meantime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
