Maj. Gen Kasirye Ggwanga’s children and relatives who are in the United States will be missing the General’s burial that will be held in Mityana this Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, the family requested government for special permission to allow Gen Kasirye\u2019s relatives and children travel from the United States to attend his burial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Information minister Judith Nabakooba, who was in the meeting held at the deceased’s elder brother’s home in Ntinda, said the matter is complicated due to the suspension of passenger flights, and the mandatory 14-day quarantine rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is going to be a challenge but we will see how to go about it. But currently, everyone should remain and mourn from where they are. Covid-19 is still with us,\u201d Ms Nabakooba said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lt Col Deo Akiiki, the Deputy UPDF spokesperson, told journalists yesterday that they agreed with the deceased\u2019s family on a tentative programme to bury him on Friday in Mityana District although there are no Vigils that will be held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere will be no vigils both in Kampala and in the village. We shall allow selected UPDF officers and family members to attend the burial,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
