{"id":15574,"date":"2020-06-05T17:19:45","date_gmt":"2020-06-05T14:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=15574"},"modified":"2020-06-05T17:19:51","modified_gmt":"2020-06-05T14:19:51","slug":"all-ministers-undergo-testing-for-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/06\/05\/all-ministers-undergo-testing-for-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"All Ministers Undergo Testing For COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>All government ministers in Uganda are being tested for coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the spokesperson for the health ministry they will be screened every two weeks because of their frequent movements across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He adds that some of 79 officials had previously been tested but none were found to be positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uganda\u2019s Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has announced that he is self-isolating for 14 days after some of his close contacts tested positive for coronavirus. He said that his own test was negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Rugunda chairs the national task force for Covid-19, his responsibilities have been delegated to the first deputy prime minister Moses Ali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff at the Office of the Prime Minister are also being tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uganda now has 557 confirmed cases with most being lorry drivers but the number of community infections is rising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has been easing lockdown measures introduced more than two months ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public transport was this week allowed to operate in most parts of the country except in border districts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All government ministers in Uganda are being tested for coronavirus.
