Leader of Opposition Betty Aol Ochan and three of her colleagues have been blocked from leaving their hotel rooms in Kasese district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ochan and her team were locked up at Sandton Hotel where they had spent a night ahead of their planned visits to the flood victims Internally Displaced camps in the District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHow do you stop me as a member of parliament to carry out my duty because Museveni is in Kasese,\u201d wondered Kalungu county MP, Joseph Ssewungu who is also part of the delegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ssewungu believes that its president Museveni who has ordered the DPC of Kasese to block them from visiting the flood hit areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf President Museveni is visiting Kasese District headquarters and some people, I also want to go to Bwera and carry out my business,\u201d added Ssewungu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further said that; \u201cWe have to visit 35 camps and atleast the minimum of 20 shall be visited by the leader of opposition and our delegation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leader of Opposition Betty Aol Ochan has condemned the move and opined that if this is a free and democratic country, they should let them move freely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe should be free, if anything to be a free country, good democracy, it would be my decision to go and attend the President\u2019s function or not. But sometimes, the way people behave, it\u2019s funny.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interestingly, Kasese RDC, Joel Walusimbi said that he doesn\u2019t know if the leader of Opposition is in Kasese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know whether she is here or not. She has not even reported to my office or in the district to know that she is there, so how can I lock somebody that I have not seen?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
