{"id":15135,"date":"2020-05-07T20:04:18","date_gmt":"2020-05-07T17:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=15135"},"modified":"2020-05-07T20:06:09","modified_gmt":"2020-05-07T17:06:09","slug":"mp-zaake-tortured-himself-minister-kania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/05\/07\/mp-zaake-tortured-himself-minister-kania\/","title":{"rendered":"MP Zaake Tortured Himself \u2014 Minister Kania"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs Hon Obiga Kania has revealed to parliament that Hon Francis Zaake tortured himself by hitting his body on the metals of the car in which he was transported in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also said that the injuries could have been as a result of the scuffle that ensued between Zaake and the police officers at the time of his arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is true that Hon Zaake Francis had injuries and bruises by the time he was received at SID Kireka on 20th April,2020 at 001lhrs. These injuries could be attributed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A scuffle when Hon. Zaake was being removed from the cell of Mityana to Kampala,\u201d said Kania before adding that; \u201cHon. Zaake Francis kept on knocking himself on the metals of the pick-up. It is probable that these injuries were as a result of the knocking.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seemingly dissatisfied with the presentation, the Speaker of Parliament tasked Hon Kania to demonstrate how a handcuffed person could inflict torture on himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister defended himself by saying that he was reading a report that has been availed to him by the investigations desk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"432\" height=\"558\" src=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/zaak2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15011\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/zaak2.jpg 432w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/zaak2-232x300.jpg 232w, https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/zaak2-325x420.jpg 325w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><figcaption>MP Zaake<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to time, parliament did not discuss the presentation by the minister but the speaker assured MPs that the issue will be discussed at length on Tuesday next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People Power movement leader Hon Kyagulanyi weighed in on the issue via his Twitter timeline and this is what he had to say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn 2018 when a Minister said I had guns; I was in military custody &amp; didn&#8217;t see his shameless face. Today, I watched in disbelief as a Minister told Parliament Hon.
