President Yoweri Museveni has promised to record a video of himself doing exercise to demonstrate to Ugandans how they can do it at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni said this on Wednesday while addressing the country on the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The other day I saw people at the northern bypass in large numbers, exercising,” Museveni said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added, “If I had enough room here, I would show you. I am going to record a video of me exercising to show you that it can be done at home.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Whenever I come back home and find mama Janet sleeping, I do my exercise, running around.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His remarks followed videos clips and photos of people jogging in groups along the northern bypass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last week, the president banned gatherings of more than five people to avoid the spread of coronavirus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Wednesday, Museveni also warned security forces against beating people as they try to enforce his guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Museveni has ordered the arrest of politicians trying to get involved in the distribution of food, saying it endangers health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Arrest them, charge them, no bail,” Museveni said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last weekend, government begun distributing food to some of the country’s most vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
