The\nUganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has on Monday awarded the “PSC”\nDAGGER Award to four Indian military officers at the Ministry of Defence and\nVeteran Affairs headquarters, Mbuya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nIndian Military Trainers awarded included Brig Gen Ranjit Singh, Col Ranjesh\nNambiar, Col Amit Suneja, and Capt. Manish \nShandev . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nawards have been conferred upon the officers by the Chief of Defence Forces\n(CDF) Gen David Muhoozi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\nhis remarks, the CDF praised the Indian officers for the job well done during\ntheir two year stay at Senior Command and Staff College Kimaka, reminding all\nthat the Indian military has had good working relations with the UPDF for some\ngood time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Thank\nyou for imparting exceptional skills to our senior officers. The skills you\nhave unreservedly imparted in them will greatly impact the development of the\nForce,” Muhoozi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nadded; “Thank you for bridging the gap between the UPDF and the Indian\nAssociation of Uganda. Our relationship with the Indian Association of Uganda\nhas greatly improved partly because of you,\u201d Muhoozi said <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muhoozi\nfurther asked the Indian team to find a way they could partner with the Indian\nAssociation of Uganda to help Ugandans in fighting COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThere\nare people who cannot afford to buy hand sanitizers, soaps and even water and\nother things needed in the fight against this pandemic, if we could work\ntogether and see how to provide these essentials, this virus would be put out.\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muhoozi also applauded the team for their work\ntowards the development of Senior Command and Staff College, Kimaka which\ninclude: Building a basketball court, donating a sixty-five (65) seater bus and\nTATA trucks among other things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lt\nGen Andrew Gutti, the Commandant of Senior Command and Staff College, Kimaka\nthanked the Indian Officers for executing their duties very well and leaving\nbehind a good mark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou\nhave left behind big shoes we hope that the team that will come after you will\nbe able to fit in and also work diligently like you.\u201d Gutti said<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Brig\nGen Ranjit Singh who led the Indian Officers thanked the UPDF under the\nleadership of the Commander in Chief, president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the\nhospitality and good working relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
