The\nMinistry of Health surveillance teams yesterday, Friday 13th March 2020\nreceived an alert from Royal Complex of a lady suspected to have COVID-19\ninfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nalert was raised by workers at the premise who indicated that the lady had\nremained locked in her room for about one week without coming out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Contrary\nto the various social media posts that have been circulating, the Ministry of\nHealth would like to clarify that our teams used a vehicle and ambulance\nbelonging to Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) to approach the said premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon\nreaching the said room, a lady occupant revealed that she was undergoing\nself-quarantine as any other person who has just returned from the flagged high\nrisk countries with the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nteam’s assessment found out this lady had no signs and symptoms but recommended\nshe completes her period of self-quarantine. They will continue monitoring her\nuntil when she gets a certificate of completing Self-quarantine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nInfectious Diseases Institute has since reiterated that it didn’t evacuate any\nsuspected patient from downtown, Kampala <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nMinistry of Health has not registered any case of COVID-19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\u2019s\nremain vigilant and calm but refrain\nfrom spreading false rumours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
