{"id":14457,"date":"2020-03-10T09:52:52","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T06:52:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/?p=14457"},"modified":"2020-03-10T09:52:55","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T06:52:55","slug":"woman-fined-shs250000-for-stealing-church-offertory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ugmirror.com\/index.php\/2020\/03\/10\/woman-fined-shs250000-for-stealing-church-offertory\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman fined Shs250,000 For Stealing Church Offertory"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kampala\nCity Hall Court has sentenced a 24-year-old woman to pay a court fine of Shs250,000\nfor stealing church offertory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judith\nNanangwe, a housewife and resident of Seeta, Mukono district was remanded to\nLuzira prison last Tuesday with her new-born baby after she pleaded guilty to\nthe charge of theft which she committed at Watoto Church, Ntinda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She\nadmitted that she stole an offertory bag containing Shs643,000 using a bag\nsimilar in colour and design<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosecution\nstates that Ms Nanangwe stole the offertory bag on March 1, 2020 at Watoto\nChurch, Ntinda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According\nto the charge sheet, the stolen offertory bag contained cash Shs643,000, the\nproperty of Watoto Church, Ntinda branch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This,\nhowever, is not the first incident of offertory theft in the recent past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An\nunidentified thug broke into the chapel on the night of August 11th, 2019 and\nmade off with an unspecified amount of money, a laptop, and extension cables,\nboxes where the offertory for mother Mary and Radio Maria are kept, among other\nthings<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kampala City Hall Court has sentenced a 24-year-old woman to pay a court fine of Shs250,000 for stealing church offertory.
