The rate of unemployment is still going higher day by day as\nmore graduates are getting out of the universities but still no jobs being\ncreated on the job market or old people retiring to create vacancies for the\nyouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most private companies are looking for people with 3 years\nand above experience in the given fields which isn\u2019t a realistic requirement\nfor a graduate that just left the university. The ones that don\u2019t require\nexperience will require a high excellent academic performance which leaves the\naverage performing students out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However even the public organizations complain that the\nfresh graduates don\u2019t have practical skills to apply in the jobs as they are\nfilled with just theory that they are taught straight from primary level. This leaves\na question about who is to blame for this, is it the curriculum, the students\nor their teachers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Talking to Dr.Mbonye \na retired Monitoring and Evaluation specialist he encouraged the youths\nto make connections while at the university and volunteer in any opportunities available\nin order to acquire some skills or experience. He also adds that self-confidence\nand good communication skills are a great advantage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
