They are yellow in color which indicates that\nthey are old and about to reach the end of their life span. That seems like\ngood news but these locust are trying to bleed and multiply in number. According\nto experts, one female locust is able to layup to 200 eggs and this shows the\nratio in which they multiply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The desert locusts were said to be a result of the winds\nblowing from Somalia to Uganda and the 2 swarms come ahead of the larger swarms\nthat come later. The locusts have spread to other districts of Karamoja region and\nlast Sunday they spread to Otuke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has raised panic among the residents and all farmers\nwhose crops have been affected by the locusts were asked to register so that\nhelp is sent to fight the locusts.&nbsp; Local\nDefense Unit (LDU) members have been deployed in the region to hand spray the\nlocusts and control the damage they would have chased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However reports from Karamoja residents say that the locusts\nhaven\u2019t done so much damage and destruction as they had anticipated.
