President\nYoweri Museveni has commissioned Jesus Cares Girls’ Hostel at Bwera Secondary\nSchool in Bukonzo West County, Kasese District. The President also made a\ngovernment contribution of Shs 370 million towards its completion, construction\nof school laboratories of Bwera Secondary School and the refurbishment of\nKitalikibi Primary School. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nPresident said 250million will go towards the construction of science\nlaboratories at Bwera S.S.S, Shs 60 million towards completion of the girls\u2019\nhostel and another Shs 60million towards the refurbishment of the Primary\nschool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nPresident later auctioned a heifer at 30 million shillings and the President’s\nportrait at 200 million shillings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nGirls Hostel that will house 330 girls requires 200 million shillings to be\ncompleted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing\na public rally at Bwera Secondary School grounds, President Museveni reminded\nthe people that the NRM government\u2019s role is to guide the people on development\nand economic transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Since\nits inception, the NRM\u2019s primary role has been to guide the people on\ngovernment development plans including enhancing education, engaging in modern\nagriculture production for economic transformation, for prosperity and\naddressing the growing problem of land fragmentation due to increasing\npopulation in the country”, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nurged the people of Kasese district to learn from the farmers in the community\nwho correctly picked the gospel of wealth and job creation at household level and\nare reaping about Shs 120 million per year in two seasons from crops such as\napples, mangoes, coffee etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nthe issue of infrastructure development, President Museveni informed the people\nof Kasese district about Uganda and the DRC government development partnership,\nsaying that he has discussed with his counterpart, President Felix Tshisekedi, the\ntwo roads connecting the border post of Mpondwe and Beni and that of Bunagana\nand Goma which will be tarmacked including the construction of the bridge on\nRiver Semliki linking to Bundibugyo district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nalso informed the people of Kasese district that the old Equator road, which is\nan access route for tourist sites, would be re-tarmacked soon since the design\nwork is ready pending the construction to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nDeputy CDF General Wilson Mbadi, an old boy of Kitalikibi Primary School, raised\nShs. 10 million from his fellow forces towards his former school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nAmbassador of Uganda to China, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, saluted the president for\nsupporting the development of the area saying that the fundraising drive was\nmeant to upgrade the three educational institutions in Bwera, West Bukonzo\ncounty, Kasese district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
H\nsaid the ceremony fetched Shs. 540 millions out of the targeted amount of Shs. 654\nmillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nDeputy Headmaster of Bwera S.S.S, Mr. Yokonia Bwambale thanked the President\nfor his contribution and for honouring their invitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nbehalf of Kasese District community, the leaders of Kasese district elders\u2019 forum\nled by Yosia Kireru gifted the President with various cultural items\nsymbolizing authority and expressing their confidence in his good leadership of\nour country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nBishop of West Rwenzori Diocese Jackson Nzerebende graced the occasion.\n\nEarlier on arrival in the district, President\nMuseveni made stopovers at both Rusese airfield near Bwera town council and\nBwera Township where supporters had gathered to receive him.
