Locusts have finally invaded Uganda, and the government is more than prepared to fight them off before they can destroy millions in food stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Museveni has revealed that\u00a0government will buy planes to fight against locusts that have been threatening to enter Uganda from Western Kenya.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The president made the remarks while\u00a0speaking at the thirty-ninth Anniversary of Tarehe Sita in Nakaseke district last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Locusts\u00a0 are currently ravaging western part of Kenya\u00a0 and threatening to enter Uganda through the East.\u00a0However, Museveni\u00a0promised to deploy plane as one of the\u00a0 ways to stop these worms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are going to send\u00a0 sprayers to base themselves in Moroto and aircraft to be ready to intervene if the locusts enter Uganda from Kenya,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also noted that Uganda plans to buy her own aircrafts for future use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parliament has already approved 15 billion shillings to prepare against these locusts but all the tentative plans to confront the invasion are still stand by.\u00a0Museveni also commented about coronavirus epidemic saying that the virus is not all that serious however advising Ugandans to be vigilant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It is not as serious like AIDS, the ministry of health will announce how to handle. When it’s\u00a0 washing\u00a0your hands, when in public don’t touch yourselves. They will announce the measures and we shall be able to defeat the virus,” he said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also expressed his disappointment in the level of wetland encroachment and threatened to sack officials from parish to district level. \n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
