The\nIsraeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has concluded his one-day official\nvisit to Uganda at the invitation of President Yoweri Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prime\nMinister Netanyahu, who arrived in the country today in the afternoon, was\naccompanied by his wife, Sarah Netanyahu, who were received at State House\nEntebbe by President Museveni and his wife and Education and Sports Minister,\nJanet Museveni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During\nhis stay in the country, Prime Minister Netanyahu held bilateral discussions\nwith President Museveni at State House, Entebbe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing\nthe media at the conclusion of the Prime Minister\u2019s visit, President Museveni\nsaid that he, together with his guest, had had a long discussion on a number of\nissues of mutual importance between Israel and Uganda, especially in the area\nof defence and security, agriculture and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President\nMuseveni thanked Prime Minister Netanyahu for being a true friend and an ally\nof Uganda and also for being the only Israel Prime Minister to have ever\nvisited Uganda a record five times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nhis part, Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Israel will never forget the\nhistoric friendship and bond between Israel, Uganda and the African continent\nas a whole that stretches for centuries. He said that his latest visit to\nUganda is meant to open a new chapter in the relationship between Israel,\nUganda and Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIsrael\nis coming back to Africa and Africa is coming back to Israel and in a big way\nand that will start here in Uganda. I want to thank President Museveni for the\nsupport he has rendered to Israel in her attempt to revive their historically\nstrong ties with Africa,\u201d said Premier Netanyahu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\ntwo leaders also said that they had discussed and agreed on the need to start\ndirect air flights between the two countries with the airlines of the two\ncountries flying to each other\u2019s capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They\nalso said they had explored the importance of opening foreign missions of the\ntwo countries with Uganda having a mission in Jerusalem while Israel will open\nthe Kampala mission.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
