Lokel\nwas knocked down by a speeding boda-boda cyclist in Nakawa on her way from\nNamboole on January 25 and later passed on from Nsambya Hospital after 3 days\nin the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She\nwas among the delegates who attended the 2nd meeting of the 3rd National\nConference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The\nNRM National leadership learnt with deep sorrow the passing on of the late Mrs.\nMary Lokel. The late is reported to have been knocked down by a speeding\nboda-boda after attending the NRM 2nd meeting of the 3rd National Conference of\nthe National Resistance Movement on 25th January 2020 at Namboole. To the\nParty, this is a big robbery of our staunch supporter\u201d reads part of the\nstatement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She\nadded, “The Party took all necessary steps to save her life while in\nNsambya Hospital but all in vain. We mourn in deep pain for the demise of our supporter\nand leader”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lokel\nhas been the Finance Secretary for the NRM District Women League in Kabong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nSecretary General has also warned boda-boda cyclists to ride responsibly and\nrespect other road users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nParty met all the hospital bills and all the *A-Plus* burial related expenses\nincluding transporting the body from Kampala to Kabong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
