The\nNational Coordinator of Alliance for National Transformation, Maj. Gen. Mugisha\nMuntu has described Uganda as one of the most resource-rich countries in\nAfrica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nmade the remarks while interacting with the party promoters in Kasese <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“And\nnowhere is this more apparent than in the Kasese\/Albertine region; snow-capped\nmountain, a world-renown national park, several mineral resources and vibrant,\nproud people. The potential here, like in most other parts of the country, is\nvirtually limitless,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nnoted that more than half a century into independence, the people of Uganda\nstill wallow in abject poverty and risk their lives to travel to the Middle\nEast and Europe in search for opportunity and a better life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“While\nthere are several reasons for this pitiful state of affairs, leadership is\nchief among them,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid Alliance for National Transformation-Uganda is committed to changing this\nnarrative right from LC1 councillors to district chairpersons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In\nthe last elections, Kasese overwhelmingly elected opposition leaders that have\nmanaged to achieve so much even amidst the challenges of our country’s\npolitics,”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
