The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has said\u00a0members of Parliament who didn’t vote the lifting of\u00a0the presidential age limit will not be allowed to\u00a0 attend the party\u2019s delegates conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The remarks were made by the party\u00a0Secretary General Kasule Lumumba in a press conference held in Kampala.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lumumba said those who opposed the age limit bill will be replaced by NRM-leaning Independent MPs at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also noted that the errant members will have to first face the party\u2019s disciplinary board before they can be allowed back into the fold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These legislators who defied party constitution include; Patrick Nsamba, John Baptist Nambeshe, Dr Sam Lyomoki, Monica Amoding, Gaffa Mbwatekamwa, Barnabas Tinkasimire, Theodore Ssekikubo, Sylvia Rwabogo, Silvia Akello, Maurice Henry Kibalya, Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonga, and Dokolo County MP Felix Okot Ogong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe lists of delegates to attend the conference have been verified and approved by the District NRM Leadership. These are going to be displayed at the NRM offices for any person to view and ensure that only those on the lists attend the Conference,\u201d Ms Lumumba said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said the main purpose of this conference is to effect amendments to the NRM Constitution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The National Conference will be proceeded by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) and the National Executive Council (NEC) meetings that will be held on 23rd and 24th respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe public is hereby informed and cautioned that only displayed delegates on the lists at the NRM Offices will be accredited to attend the above meeting and therefore no claims whatsoever will be entertained from any non-participants travelling to Kampala for the Conference,” she noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She said delegates are also advised to come with their National Identity Cards<\/p>\n\n\n\n
