The\npatron of People Power Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi wine has said his pressure group\nwill continue obeying the law despite interference from security agencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police\naccused the singer cum politician for failure to meet some requirements in the Public\nOrder Management Act. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However,\nthe legislator blamed the Police for continuously blocking their consultative\nmeetings without clear reasons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nmade the remarks on Wednesday after his meetings were again blocked by security\nagencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nnoted that even in areas where they have fulfilled all the guidelines as set in\nthe Public Order Management Act, Police oscillated into action and stopped\nthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“For\nexample, the reason they gave for blocking our meetings in Gayaza is that; it\nwas an open place which is illegal however in Lira, we agreed to follow those\nvigorous directives and put the meetings in an enclosed place,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He\nsaid that the continuous confrontation between the police and opposition which\nleaves many injured, businesses interrupted and scores arrested should be\nblamed on the police for failure to let them exercise their freedom to\nassemble. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“For\nhow long are we going to see people that are paid to keep the law actually are\nthe ones breaking the law? For how long are we going to see security agencies\nuse our money to brutalise our people?” he queried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On\nthe issue of fronting a joint candidate ahead of 2021, the legislator who is\nalso the leader of People Power welcomed the idea. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It\nis a desire for the people of Uganda to see us come together to put an end to\nthe brutal dictatorship because we are enclosed, indeed God willing we shall\ncome together and agree,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
